HI, I’M MEL!

I’m a professionally certified Intuitive Life Coach, and I’m here to help you be your best self! I’m a graduate of the ICF-certified Intuitive Life Coaching Academy and I’m currently furthering my training with the Satir Coaching & Mentoring Program. I’m not a therapist, but I LOVE talking about mental health! I’ve got a lot of personal experience with it.

I’m not here to tell you HOW to live your life. I’m here to help you DISCOVER YOURSELF. Your thoughts, your feelings, your inner wisdom, your authentic self - only you can know these paths. However, there’s nothing in the book of life that says you can’t walk these paths without help. Consider me your teammate - a professional homie who has a professional interest in YOU and YOUR LIFE and YOUR EXISTENCE. It is literally my job to learn YOU. I listen, seek to understand, and ask questions with your best interests in mind. I’m here to help you live your best life.

WHAT’S THE FIRST FREE SESSION LIKE?

We’ll introduce ourselves, I’ll say my necessary disclaimers, and we’ll dive right into the coaching.

Toward the end of the session, I’ll ask you if you have any questions for me. And then finally, if you’re interested in working with me, we’ll talk about money and the coaching packages I offer.

And if you’re not interested in working with me? That’s cool too, and that’s why this is a no-strings-attached kind of deal. :)

ABOUT MEL

Heyo! I’m Mel, AKA MELCHETE. Like “machete,” but Mel. You get the point. Lol.

I’m a millennial; I was born in 1992. I’m a Virgo Sun with Scorpio Moon and Rising, so I’m an intense perfectionist at heart. I love video games and psychology and learning as much as I can. I’m a native of Cleveland, OH.

I am extremely passionate about the mental well-being of others, and that’s why I became a life coach. I realized I am good at being a conduit, some sort of human channel through which others can realize their higher selves - just through the art of conversation. Let’s talk! My life purpose is to help others.

I can make friends with almost anybody, and vulnerability is my superpower. I am an open and honest book. Deciding and committing to being truly honest with myself, and others, has been one of the key components in changing my life.

I have always struggled with extreme anxiety and depression. I often wonder if I am slightly on the autism spectrum, but I am undiagnosed. I definitely attract autism. My partner has aspbergers and we’re in the highest-functioning, healthiest relationship I’ve ever been in. It’s awesome.

Growing up, I was painfully shy. In my home, I learned not to trust others. I grew into a very resentful teenager, one that hated humanity. I poured myself into writing and playing electric bass.

I started singing. I found my voice. To escape my mentally and emotionally abusive environment, I poured myself into relationships. I stayed out of the house as much as possible. I did tons of drugs and binge drank on a daily basis. I was homeless for a summer because I couldn’t tolerate living at home and didn’t have enough money to get my own place. I decided I would rather live out of my car.

I performed live music all around Cleveland and kept partying for eight years straight. I was living a crazy, beautiful, nightmarish, incredibly self-destructive life. I went to college five times and dropped out five times, for five different majors: creative writing, pop & rock music performance, stenography, film production, and psychology.

I just couldn’t choose what life I wanted to live, because I wanted a combination that didn’t seem to exist yet. My life felt like a series of upstarts and failures, all going nowhere.

I had always struggled with suicidal ideation, but it escalated to the point that my psychiatrist sent me to the mental hospital in 2019. I stayed for six days.

It completely saved my life.

I came back into the world with brand new eyes. Things that I couldn’t have imagined before, because of my limiting beliefs, unfolded before me. I started to believe in things happening for a reason, that there are synchronicities in the universe...

...and I was suddenly able to make sense of my life.

All the things I hated myself for, that I couldn’t accept - the drugs, the alcohol, the risky relationships - I realized they needed to happen to me in order for me to level up. I realized that there is a lesson in everything, and if I can’t wrap my head around something just yet, then that means I’m in the middle of it, and I gotta make it through the end of the lesson in order to look back and understand it.

It’s really helped me cope better, cope healthier, and move forward - on top of a TON of therapy. I love therapy!

Some days life is still hard and honestly feels like it sucks, but I’m not experiencing suicidal ideation anymore. I’m not an active alcoholic anymore. I’m not an active drug addict anymore. I’m not trying to kill myself anymore, because I found my purpose in the mental hospital, and my purpose saved my life.

I’m living my purpose right now by telling you my story, hoping that these words might resonate with you in some way. My purpose is to help others, to use my wisdom gained from my shitload of mistakes and experiences in order to guide others navigating similar trials.

I am a living example of hitting rock bottom and fighting my way out, because I’ve done it twice. 2019 was my first year of reinventing myself, and I have continued transforming since. I have learned a lot in my journey, and I would love to be of service to anyone who can relate.

My second year of reinventing myself happened recently, in 2023. Covid undid a lot of the progress I made after the hospital, and I became agoraphobic and addicted to video games. One video game in particular - Dead By Daylight. (To my DBD gamers - I’m a Dwight main with 4.4k hours. I enjoyed playing Myers as well. I played on PC.)

I hardly left the house for two years. I hardly slept, too. I would stay up for days at a time, stuck.

Then synchronicity struck again, and I randomly met my partner online. I told him, “I know this sounds crazy AF, but I feel like we’re supposed to know each other.” And BAM. We met a month later. Two months after that, I left Cleveland and moved to Omaha, Nebraska. We’ve been living together for over a year and I have reclaimed my life.

I stopped playing Dead By Daylight on April 11, 2023. Since then, I’ve done things I NEVER WOULD HAVE DREAMT WERE POSSIBLE. I never thought I would be capable of these things again, like showering every day and going out in public and having a job - LET ALONE MOVE 12 HOURS FROM HOME. I thought I had messed up the chance I was given after the mental hospital, and that there would be no more chances.

Well, I’m here to tell you THERE ARE MORE CHANCES THAN YOU KNOW. And you deserve these chances. Because I deserve them. And there is no difference between me and you in that regard - we all deserve to live our best lives, as many chances as it takes.

I’ve needed a ton of help. Let me help you.

what is intuitive life coaching?

arrow elbow angle clipart

Intuitive Life Coaching is a holistic approach that combines traditional coaching methods with intuitive insights. It helps you tap into your inner wisdom, empower yourself, align with your true purpose, and achieve your goals. It’s fun! And it’s ALL ABOUT YOU. You’re the star of this show! I’m just here to help out.

HOW IS THIS ANY DIFFERENT FROM REGULAR LIFE COACHING?

arrow elbow angle clipart

“Regular” or Traditional Life Coaching focuses on goal-setting, action plans, and accountability. Intuitive Life Coaching is less surface-level. Intuitive Coaching takes a more whole-person approach, meaning I’m paying attention to everything about you: Your body language, your tone of voice, your choice of words, your energy, and so much more. I coach your whole self, not just your goals. Don’t get me wrong - we’ll definitely set goals together, because coaching is all about upward growth, but we’re going to take into account so much more than traditional coaching does. Intuitive Life Coaching helps you become aware of and tune into your subconscious mind and your own intuition. Because, believe it or not, everybody’s got it!

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THIS, THERAPY, AND CONSULTING?

arrow elbow angle clipart

This is a great question, and a very important one. Let’s break it down:

  • COACHING is a partnership based on the assumption that you are a functioning human and is focused on helping you achieve your personal/professional goals. As your coach, I’m your teammate. I’ll support you in discovering your own answers and taking meaningful action toward your aspirations. I’ll offer you intuitive guidance, but I don’t provide the answers for you. I also don’t tell you what to do. My role as your teammate is to help you uncover the answers you have within yourself. I want you to live your best life, your way! Your journey is unique to you!

  • THERAPY is a different kind of partnership. The therapist is the expert who diagnoses you and treats you based on your diagnoses. Therapy is more oriented toward dysfunction and healing that dysfunction. It’s a process that’s personally helped me cope with my PTSD and other diagnoses. In my experience with therapy, it’s more about uncovering what messed you up in the past and how it’s still affecting you today. Coaching is about forward momentum, whereas therapy is more like processing the past.

***While coaching is an AMAZING supplement for therapy, it is not a substitute for therapy if you need therapy.***

  • CONSULTING is more like a business relationship. The consultant is the absolute expert, and you pay to learn as much as you can from them. Consultants provide strategies and recommendations, and lead you via their expertise and personal experience in specific fields.

WHAT’S YOUR COACHING STYLE LIKE?

arrow elbow angle clipart

I’m totally a cheerleader. I’m authentic. I’m quirky, but always with good intentions. I’m very practical and straightforward - it’s hard for me to talk around the point. I gotta get straight to the point. I’m really good at pattern-spotting and analyzing social dynamics. I’m honest and kind. I firmly believe in the power of going with the flow and letting conversation go wherever it takes us, because I know it’ll take us to where we need to be to make progress. I’m very intuitive, especially when it comes to groups and teams - once I get to know someone, I make an invaluable teammate. I can figure out exactly how to work with you, support you, listen to you, and challenge you. I believe in small steps being the foundation to higher living, and celebrating those small steps. I love to talk in video game metaphors, so if you’re a gamer, let me know. Also, I swear a lot. (I’m a Coast Guard kid, so I’m fluent in Sailor.) Feel free to swear too. If swearing bothers you, that’s cool too, just let me know! No judgment here. I’ve got an open mind and a beautifully diverse history of friends from all walks of life. I will never judge you, even when it comes to the most embarrassing, hardest, and silliest things you’re considering saying. You’re safe with me, no matter what things you share. Cultivating a safe space for you is my priority. Safe spaces have allowed me to explore myself and grow, and I want to pay that forward.

how do I know if THIS is right for me?

If you resonate with anything on my website, that’s a good sign. If you’re feeling drawn to this, that’s another good sign. If you’re recognizing that you don’t know what you don’t know, and you are open to exploring the unknown, that’s a great sign.

I work with clients who wanna do the work. Because this is work. It’s just WAY BETTER THAN TYPICAL WORK, BECAUSE IT’S CUSTOMIZED TO YOUR UNIQUE EXISTENCE. Imagine being on a team that’s designed to uplift you and is completely curated to your life. Because that’s what this is.

If you want to invest in yourself, understand yourself in deeper ways, kickstart that fire in your heart, you are ready. If you want to believe in yourself again, you’re ready, because I’ll show you all the ways in which you deserve to believe in yourself. I’ll remind you that you are special, and strong. If you’re burnt out on sidequests and really want to focus back on the narrative - your narrative - then you are ready.

What’s the best way you can know if this is right for you? Book a free session. Worst case scenario? You spend some time talking with me about whatever you want to talk about, in a totally safe environment, and then you never talk with me again. There are no hard feelings if we’re not a good fit/you don’t want to continue/whatever. At least you’ll have tried something new!

HOW CONFIDENTIAL IS THIS?
